Connor Norby Makes Major League Debut with Baltimore Orioles
Baltimore's Top Prospect Debuts North of the Border
Norby Called Up After Mateo's Injury
Toronto, Canada - Just five days before his 24th birthday, Baltimore Orioles prospect Connor Norby crossed the U.S.-Canada border for the first time in his life. On Monday afternoon, Norby was called up from Triple-A to make his major league debut against the Toronto Blue Jays.
The move comes after infielder Jorge Mateo was placed on the 7-day concussion injured list. Norby, who is ranked as the Orioles' No. 5 prospect by Baseball America, will provide the team with some much-needed depth in the infield.
Norby is a versatile player who can play multiple positions, including second base, shortstop, and third base. He was a standout performer in Triple-A this season, batting .312 with 10 home runs and 50 RBIs.
The Orioles are hoping that Norby can continue his success at the major league level and help the team maintain their position as one of the best in baseball.
